job description

About the Role

At CIBC, we are building a relationship-oriented bank for the modern world. We need talented, passionate professionals who are dedicated to doing what’s right for our clients. We embrace your strengths and ambitions, empowering you at work. Our team members have what they need to make a meaningful impact and are truly valued for who they are and what they contribute.

As a Financial Services Representative within the Personal and Business Banking team, you’ll work in a fast-paced banking centre in Comox, BC, where you’ll make a meaningful difference in our clients' lives. You will proactively engage with clients and leverage CIBC’s best-in-class mobile and online banking options to recommend the right products and solutions that will help their financial success. This role requires flexibility to work banking centre hours, which may include evenings and weekends, and to work at multiple banking centres within a reasonable travel distance to deliver a great client experience. This is a full-time, on-site position.

Key Duties

  • Client engagement: Meet with clients to understand their personal and business priorities, advise them on solutions, and provide a forward-looking financial plan. Use your knowledge of technology, cash management, credit, investment, and wealth protection to help clients meet their goals.
  • Relationship building: Engage in marketing and outreach activities to show clients you value them and their communities. Grow your network, deepen existing relationships, and work as one team to ensure clients are connected to the right people and opportunities.
  • Leveraging technology: Become a technology expert. Share your knowledge by introducing clients to our mobile banking applications, helping them to better manage their banking needs.

Skills and Experience

We are looking for individuals who put our clients first, engaging with purpose to find the right solutions and going the extra mile. You should be goal-oriented, motivated by accomplishing your goals and delivering your best to make a difference. Attention to detail matters, as your critical thinking skills will inform your decision-making. You are passionate about people, finding meaning in relationships and connecting with others through respect and authenticity. A love for learning and a strong sense of curiosity are also important.

  • You can demonstrate 1 year experience in working with clients and achieving sales results. Prior banking experience in a similar capacity is an asset.
  • You are a certified professional with current accreditation and good standing Mutual Funds License (Canadian Securities Course or Investment Funds In Canada).
  • You bring your real self to work and live our values: trust, teamwork, and accountability.
