As a Bilingual Branch Administrator, you will be an integral part of the CIBC Wood Gundy team in Montréal, accountable for effectively managing all administrative aspects of the branch operations. Key Duties
Your success in this Branch Administrator role will be defined by your ability to manage people, oversee operations, and provide crucial sales and customer support. Key responsibilities include:
- Oversee the hiring, training, scheduling, supervision, and performance management of all support staff within the branch.
- Manage the hiring process for all support staff roles, including obtaining Head Office approval and participating in candidate interviews and selection.
- Support the Branch Manager in cultivating a performance-oriented culture and developing strong employee relations through fair and consistent treatment and excellent communication.
- Manage day-to-day branch operations and administration, including the maintenance of office equipment and supplies, and coordination of office functions and events.
- Identify opportunities for increased efficiency and monitor and control the branch budget and expenses to ensure profitability.
- Review and process accounts payable for Branch Manager approval, and monitor the branch summary of revenue and expenses.
- Assist the Branch Manager in performing Investment Advisor duties, such as taking buy/sell orders for T-Bills, Corporate Paper, Bankers Acceptances, Mutual Funds, stocks, and bonds.
- Accurately write up trade tickets, ensuring all particulars pertaining to a trade are correct.
- Coordinate and notify brokers of new stock and bond issues, cease trades, and halt trading.
- Ensure customer service standards and operational procedures are communicated and maintained by liaising among various departments within Wood Gundy.
Qualifications

- Current accreditation and good standing as an Investment Representative (IR) with Canadian Investment Regulatory Organization - Investment Dealer (CIRO-ID). Registered Representative (RR) licensing is an asset.
- Required financial services and/or brokerage industry experience, along with working knowledge of various quotation equipment.
- Demonstrated experience in the financial service brokerage industry, with strong organizational and administrative skills to manage numerous activities in a fast-paced environment with varying priorities.
- Strong management and interpersonal skills to effectively manage and coach support staff, meeting their needs in a highly competitive environment.
- Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with staff and clients, coupled with problem-solving abilities to resolve issues and conflicts.
- Fluency in both French and English is essential to serve our diverse clients in the Montréal community.
