About this Opportunity
CIBC is building a relationship-oriented bank for the modern world, seeking talented and passionate professionals dedicated to doing what’s right for their clients. At CIBC, your strengths and ambitions are embraced, empowering you to make a meaningful impact and be valued for your contributions.
As an Associate Financial Advisor within the Personal and Business Banking team in Timmins, you will work in a dynamic Banking Centre. This role focuses on forming a deep understanding of personal and small business clients’ financial needs, recommending personalized solutions to help them achieve their financial goals, and managing a portfolio of mortgage clients with an emphasis on deepening client relationships.
Your Impact
In this role, you will play a crucial part in helping clients navigate their financial journeys. Your daily activities will involve understanding their priorities, providing expert advice, and ensuring their diverse banking needs are met. You will contribute to CIBC's presence in the community and drive business growth through dedicated client engagement and relationship building.
- Client engagement: Meet with clients to understand their personal and business priorities, advise them on solutions, and provide a forward-looking financial plan. Ensure clients’ investment, financial, and credit-related needs are met by providing comprehensive retail banking offers or making formal introductions to appropriate Imperial Service and Business Banking colleagues.
- Relationship building: Engage in marketing and outreach activities to demonstrate value to clients and their communities. Grow your professional network, deepen existing relationships, and collaborate as one team to connect clients with the right people and opportunities.
- Business development: Create new relationships by networking with clients’ families and friends to uncover opportunities and refer to appropriate partners. Proactively call both existing and potential clients to identify opportunities for future growth and revenue. Participate in community and banking centre events, such as business development events, client acknowledgement programs, and client appreciation days, to enhance CIBC's presence and gain market share.
- Leveraging technology: Become a technology expert, sharing your knowledge by introducing clients to mobile banking applications to help them better manage their banking needs.
Requirements
CIBC is looking for individuals who are client-focused, goal-oriented, and passionate about building relationships. You should be motivated by achieving goals and committed to making a difference. Attention to detail and strong critical thinking skills are essential for informed decision-making. A genuine love for learning and curiosity will help you grow your knowledge in this evolving financial landscape.
- You can demonstrate 2 – 3 years of experience in providing financial advice to clients and achieving sales results through advice-based conversations.
- You are a certified professional with current accreditation and good standing in a Mutual Funds License (Canadian Securities Course or Investment Funds in Canada) and must meet eligibility requirements for CIRO-MFD licensing. Current accreditation and good standing in CFSA (Certificate of Financial Services Advice) is considered an asset.
