This opportunity for a Bilingual Credit Risk Analyst in Montreal involves performing a range of complex credit management functions for various credit accounts. Requirements

To succeed as a Credit Risk Analyst at CIBC, you will need a strong foundation in credit knowledge and analysis, coupled with a collaborative approach and a commitment to compliance.

  • Credit Knowledge & Analysis: Possess knowledge and experience in Credit Analysis and Credit Risk. Expertise in loan/security documentation, compliance, audit, and control requirements is essential. Familiarity with internal CIBC systems and applications (e.g., COINS/COLT, LAS, Content Manager, ICAP/e-diary) is an asset.
  • Collaboration: Maintain open lines of communication with assigned Credit Specialists. Regular contact with internal CIBC employees, teams, and management is required to provide and receive information and escalate issues. You will also interact with external Solicitors and the Canadian Securities Registration System (CSRS) to clarify loan-related information.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with all CIBC regulatory training and consistently apply these programs and policies across the business. Personal responsibility for adherence to all regulatory and governance programs is expected.

Responsibilities

As a Bilingual Credit Risk Analyst, your core responsibilities will revolve around the diligent management and oversight of credit accounts and processes for CIBC.

  • Perform a range of complex credit management functions for various credit accounts.
  • Apply experience and knowledge of basic accounting principles in daily tasks.
  • Exercise considerable judgment and discretion when determining appropriate courses of action for credit-related matters.
  • Be responsible for the fulfillment, servicing, and management of the authorized credit process.
  • Ensure loan documentation is completely and accurately maintained in accordance with credit facilities.
  • Maintain open lines of communication with assigned Credit Specialists.
  • Engage in regular contact with internal CIBC employees, teams, and departments (e.g., Risk Management, Credit Specialists) at peer and management levels to provide and receive information and escalate issues as required.
  • Regularly contact external Solicitors and the Canadian Securities Registration System (CSRS) to obtain and clarify information related to loans.
  • Ensure compliance with all CIBC regulatory training and apply these programs and policies consistently across the business.
  • Take personal responsibility for compliance with all regulatory and governance programs.
