About this opportunity
CIBC is building a relationship-oriented bank for the modern world, and we need talented, passionate professionals dedicated to doing what’s right for our clients. At CIBC, we embrace your strengths and ambitions, empowering you to make a meaningful impact. Our team members have what they need to thrive and are truly valued for their contributions. This role requires you to be on-site full-time to successfully perform the work, ensuring a consistent and strong presence within our banking environment.
What you'll do
As a Banking Centre Leader I within the Personal and Business Banking Team, you will lead a team of high-performing financial services professionals. Your primary goal will be delivering an exceptional client experience, ensuring our clients receive the best possible service. You’ll hire, develop, and coach your team, inspiring them to perform at their best and achieve shared objectives. You’ll think and act like an owner, helping both clients and team members succeed, finding ways to fuel the right kind of revenue growth, and taking full accountability for results. You will make a significant difference by supporting new and existing clients as they secure their futures, own homes, and establish businesses. This role requires flexibility to work banking centre hours, which may include evenings and weekends, and to work at multiple CIBC banking centres within a reasonable travel distance to best serve our clients.
Your success in this role will be driven by three key areas:
- Client experience: Lead by example, showing your team how to deepen client relationships and meet client financial needs while providing a high standard of service. Advocate for CIBC within the community to develop new and existing client relationships, and encourage employees to quickly resolve client complaints, escalating when necessary.
- Results-oriented leadership: Create a culture of teamwork where clients are served by those best able to meet their financial needs. Monitor the Banking Centre’s business performance, implement action plans to close any gaps, and work collaboratively with partners to maximize market opportunities and increase overall performance. You will also manage and minimize risk to safeguard our bank, clients, and shareholders.
- People leadership: Lead and coach a high-performing team of Leaders, Advisors, and Representatives to deepen client relationships and deliver the right kind of growth. Provide meaningful development opportunities for employees and advocate for CIBC within the community to recruit individuals who share and demonstrate our values.
Requirements
We are looking for a leader who consistently puts our clients first, engaging with purpose to find the right solutions and going the extra mile because it’s the right thing to do. You are goal-oriented, motivated by accomplishing objectives and delivering your best to make a difference. Passionate about people, you find meaning in relationships and connect with others through respect and authenticity, building a diverse network of partners. As a caring and accountable leader, you are passionate about developing and growing team members' abilities and have experience providing coaching and hands-on support to meet team goals. You act like an owner, thriving when empowered to take initiative, go above and beyond, and deliver results. Finally, your values matter to you; you bring your real self to work and live CIBC’s core values of trust, teamwork, and accountability.
To be successful in this finance role, you must be a certified professional with the following accreditation:
- Current accreditation and good standing Mutual Funds License (Canadian Securities Course or Investment Funds In Canada).
- It’s an asset if you’ve completed any of the following: Branch Compliance Officer’s Course (BCO), Branch Managers Examination Course (BME), Conducts & Practices Handbook (CPH) Wealth Management Essentials (WME); or Certified Financial Planner (CFP).
