Key Responsibilities and Qualifications

The role also requires the emptying of recycling and garbage receptacles, servicing washroom facilities, and, as required, dusting and general cleaning. Routine pick-up and deliveries are also an assigned duty, contributing to the logistical support of the department.

Furthermore, the Utility (Yards) assists with various activities related to the operation, maintenance, and preservation of assigned buildings and facilities, including routine preventative maintenance activities. The ability to operate a forklift and other equipment as required is a key aspect of the role. Assistance with the set-up and take-down of various meeting and training rooms is also an assigned task. Maintaining daily work activity records for the Work Management System is required to ensure accurate tracking and reporting. Candidates for this role must possess a Grade 12 education and have two years’ experience in a variety of Roadways, Fleet & Support activities. The ability to obtain a valid recognized first aid certificate is also necessary.
