Position Summary

Your Impact and Responsibilities
As the Human Resources Manager, your leadership and expertise will be instrumental in guiding the business and fostering a productive work environment. You will provide essential human resources insights and direction across various functions, ensuring consistent and compliant practices. Your day-to-day management responsibilities will include:
- Providing guidance to the business regarding company policy administration, legislative requirements, and the application and interpretation of Collective Bargaining Agreements (CBA) to ensure consistent, equitable, and compliant application.
- Overseeing the administration of compensation and benefit programs, performance evaluation, and annual total rewards programs.
- Conducting investigations and executing grievance, arbitration, and mediation processes, while providing employee and legislation support and guidance.
- Partnering with the business to develop and execute engagement and retention initiatives and action plans.
- In conjunction with senior leaders, assessing competencies, identifying high potential employees, and developing action plans to ensure bench strength, including coaching senior leaders in identifying high potential employees.
- Providing day-to-day leadership of the team, including hiring, development, and performance management.
- Participating in site/departmental management meetings, SQF annual reviews, Business Continuity planning, and other cross-functional meetings to provide human resource insights, and executing Cavendish Farms and enterprise-wide HR initiatives, including communications and change management.
Requirements and Experience
To excel in this Human Resources Manager role, candidates should possess a strong foundation in human resources management and demonstrated leadership experience. We are looking for individuals who can navigate complex labour relations and contribute strategically to our business requirements.
- Post Secondary Education in Human Resources, Labour Relations, Business Administration, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum 5-7 years of progressive Human Resources experience, with broad exposure to HR operations and employee relations.
- At least 3 years of demonstrated people management or leadership experience.
- Proven experience applying human rights legislation, Employment Standard Act (ESA) requirements, and best practices in labour and employee relations.
- Strong knowledge of employment legislation, workplace policies, and compliance requirements.
- Experience in high-speed manufacturing is an asset.
- Effective communicator and public speaker.
- Disability Management experience.
- Project Management skills.
- Effective leadership and conflict resolution skills.
- Proven ability to demonstrate the application of risk assessment to operations and activities.
- Knowledge on incident investigation and root cause analysis skills would be an asset.
- CPHR Designation (or equivalent professional HR certification) is considered an asset.
