About the Role

J.D. Irving, Limited, a diverse group of companies operating across Eastern Canada and the USA, is seeking a dedicated Class 1 Truck Driver for its Atlas Structural Systems division in Mount Uniacke, Nova Scotia. Atlas Structural Systems is a manufacturer specializing in the design and manufacture of high-quality pre-engineered structural systems, including integrated roof, wall, and floor systems, for both commercial and residential construction projects.

This vital role supports our operations by ensuring the safe and timely delivery of these essential components to our valued customers throughout Eastern Canada and the US. You will be an integral part of a team committed to excellence and safety within a dynamic work environment.

What You'll Do

As a Class 1 Truck Driver, your primary responsibility will be the safe and efficient transportation of our pre-engineered structural products. You will play a key role in our logistics, ensuring that construction materials reach their destinations promptly and in excellent condition, helping us meet project timelines.

• Safely deliver products to customers.
• Complete reports and paperwork as required related to shipping orders, return of product, vehicle inspections, and driving logs.
• Assist in loading vehicles.
• Communicate as required with customers and dispatch.
• Follows procedures and demonstrates safe work behaviours.

Who We're Looking For

We are seeking a safety-minded individual with a strong work ethic to join our transportation team. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working outdoors and capable of handling physical demands in a fast-paced environment, ensuring we continue to meet our high standards for service and delivery.

• Class 1 license with air brake endorsement.
• Minimum of 2 years of truck driving experience.
• Experience with oversize loads would be considered an asset.
• Safety mindset with a willing to learn attitude.
• High attention to detail and strong communication skills.
• Comfortable working outside.
• Capable of lifting at least 50lbs and working in a fast-paced environment.
