job description

The opportunity

We are building a relationship-oriented bank for the modern world. We need talented, passionate professionals who are dedicated to doing what is right for our clients. At CIBC, we embrace your strengths and your ambitions, so you are empowered at work. Our team members have what they need to make a meaningful impact and are truly valued for who they are and what they contribute.

As a member of the Personal and Business Banking Team, you will work in a fast-paced Banking Centre, leveraging your knowledge of financial services products to support clients with their everyday banking needs. You are flexible to work our banking centre hours which may include evenings and weekends, and you are flexible to work at multiple banking centres within a reasonable travel distance. To successfully perform the work, you will be on-site full-time.

What you'll do

As a Client Engagement Associate, you will be the first line of support by answering questions, assisting with transactions, guiding clients through digital banking options, and connecting them with the right solutions and team members to support their financial goals. Your responsibilities span several key areas:

  • Help clients manage their accounts and products, focusing on the client experience and making interactions meaningful.
  • Ask thoughtful questions to understand client needs, explain relevant banking products and services, and support sales that meet their specific needs.
  • Identify opportunities to connect clients to the right CIBC team members who can help them reach their goals.
  • Listen, gather information, put yourself in the client shoes, and take accountability for client issues while knowing when to lean on others.
  • Become a technology expert by introducing clients to our mobile banking applications and helping them better manage their banking needs.

What you'll bring

We are looking for individuals who embody specific values and personal qualities to deliver exceptional service:

  • You put our clients first, engage with purpose to find the right solutions, and go the extra mile.
  • You are goal-oriented, motivated by accomplishing goals, and dedicated to making a difference.
  • You are passionate about people, find meaning in relationships, and connect through respect and authenticity.
  • You love to learn, possess a strong sense of curiosity, and are passionate about growing your knowledge.
  • You engage with your heart and mind, care about people, respect different perspectives, and learn from others.
  • You are digitally savvy, seek out innovative solutions, embrace evolving technologies, and adapt easily to new tools.
  • You live your values, bring high standards and genuine care, and want to grow with an employer that shares your values.

What CIBC offers

At CIBC, your goals are a priority. We aspire to give you a career, rather than just a paycheck, recognizing you in personalized ways through a comprehensive offering:

  • Competitive salary and incentive pay
  • Banking benefits and an employee share purchase plan
  • A benefits program and defined benefit pension plan
  • A vacation offering and wellbeing support
  • MomentMakers, our social, points-based recognition program
  • Purpose Day, a paid day off dedicated to investing in your growth and development
