About the Role
The City of Saskatoon is seeking a dedicated Business Relationship Manager to serve as a strategic liaison between assigned business units and Information Technology. This pivotal role focuses on relationship development, strategy development, and identifying potential solutions for various business problems. You will be instrumental in establishing project priorities and recommending effective strategies for implementation, contributing to the overall success of City of Saskatoon operations and administration jobs Saskatoon.
- Establish and maintain strategic relationships with business units to determine and ensure their technology-related business needs are met.
- Coordinate the exchange of information between business units and IT regarding technology initiatives.
- Articulate business strategies and priorities to IT to ensure that IT services, strategic planning, and Enterprise Architecture align with those needs.
- Provide advice and consultation regarding gathering business requirements and preparing divisional business plans in relationship to their technology needs, project prioritisation, and the maintenance of the Corporate Long-Range Systems Plan.
- Maintain strong working relationships with supporting services and contribute to the ongoing development of Business Relationship Management standards, metrics, and strategies.

This role is key to integrating data and improving productivity through effective management techniques, supporting the City of Saskatoon careers in administration.
- Manage assigned staff; hire, assign work schedules, assess staffing needs, identify and pursue other resources if necessary, and perform layoff and recall.
- Plan and approve staff development; conduct performance management and, when required, disciplinary action.
- Conduct feasibility studies and recommend alternatives; identify key stakeholders; identify system requirements for implementation; develop a statement–of-requirements document.
- Support the lifecycle of a project including developing business case; initiate, plan, and control project, and prepare forecasts of short- and long-term projects.
- Plan and manage studies to identify productivity improvements through effective management techniques and tools.
- Obtain consensus on the priority of projects; recommend the resources to meet goals; and oversee the implementation of projects.
- Maintain current knowledge of technological advancements and IT services as they pertain to departmental and corporate requirements and look for opportunities to standardize and consolidate services.
- Assist with planning and managing the maintenance and revision of Corporate Information Systems, including procedures and the use of new methods.
- Assist with the integration of data within the corporation.
- Perform other related duties.
Skills and Experience
To excel in this Business Relationship Manager role, you will bring a robust blend of education, extensive experience in information services, and demonstrated leadership abilities. Your expertise in requirements gathering and project management will be crucial for success within the City of Saskatoon jobs environment.
- University degree in computational science, commerce, business administration or related discipline.
- Seven to nine years of experience in information services, including three years' experience in requirements gathering and business case development.
The ideal candidate will also possess the following knowledge, abilities, and skills:
- Thorough knowledge of Business Relationship Management theory including the application of that knowledge in a business setting.
- Thorough knowledge of the principles of organization, management, and administration.
- Ability to exercise a high degree of initiative and to work independently.
- Ability to analyse diverse systems.
- Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing, including the ability to prepare and present presentations of a specialized nature.
- Demonstrated project management skills.
- Demonstrated effective interpersonal skills, including the ability to relate and maintain relationships with all levels of the organization and external contacts.
Compensation and Perks
The City of Saskatoon offers a competitive compensation package for this permanent full-time position. The salary range is $93,293.52 to $109,486.56 CAD per annum (2026 rates), complemented by an annual supplement of $13,790.88.
