Role Overview

Knix, an award-winning intimate apparel and activewear brand, is seeking a dynamic Assistant Store Manager for its Surrey, BC location. As one of North America's fastest-growing intimate apparel brands, Knix is globally recognised for innovation and empowering people to be unapologetically free. This role is crucial in bringing the Knix brand to life, focusing on how you lead and connect with customers and your team every day.

As an Assistant Store Manager, you are the performance-driving force of your store, a key partner in owning the business and achieving high-stakes results through on-floor leadership. You will balance operational excellence with genuine human connection in a fast-paced retail environment. Coaching and developing people is a core part of this role, empowering Key Leads and Sales Associates to grow and succeed together. We are looking for a resilient, motivated leader who inspires teams, builds community, and delivers meaningful results through a world-class customer experience.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

The Assistant Store Manager will play a pivotal role in driving the business forward, focusing on sales initiatives, team development, and maintaining operational excellence. Your daily tasks will include:

  • Drive store performance by leading key sales initiatives such as clienteling, owning the floor during peak moments, and coaching team members to maximize sales through needs-based service and strong product knowledge.
  • Leverage KPIs and core business drivers (traffic, CVR, AOV, UPT) to influence sales targets and pivot team focus in the moment to meet business needs.
  • Command the floor during peak segments, instilling a sense of urgency and high-energy 'bias for action' in your team to convert every opportunity into a win.
  • Lead impactful floor meetings, training, and coaching to drive alignment and consistent sales, service, and operational performance.
  • Champion a customer-first culture that builds comfort, trust, and loyalty, driving repeat visits and meaningful connections with the Knix brand.
  • Maintain operational excellence through strong inventory, shipment, and loss-prevention practices, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and accountability across the team.
  • Support the hiring and onboarding process while taking a lead role in developing sales talent to create clear development pathways.
  • Execute company and marketing initiatives, including in-store events, visual standards, and new store or pop-up support with consistency, agility, and attention to detail.

Qualifications and Requirements

We are looking for an individual with a strong pulse on what Knix customers want, someone who knows how to attract, engage, and delight them throughout the full client experience. You should be a high-performance individual in a retail setting, obsessing over outperforming targets and viewing every shift as a 'selling period' where you own the results. Thriving in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, you can think on your feet and confidently prioritize what matters most.

A people-first leader, you empower and engage your team, creating a culture where performance, accountability, and care go hand in hand. You bring strong business acumen and critical thinking, paired with a bias for action and an entrepreneurial mindset when solving problems. Leading with resilience and positivity, you guide teams through change and challenges while maintaining focus, momentum, and morale. Your passion for our customers and the Knix mission is paramount.

  • Proven experience as a senior retail leader in an upscale, premium, or fashion-forward brand, with a strong balance of people leadership and business acumen to drive results.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams in a dynamic environment, maintaining motivation, focus, and performance while adapting strategies to shifting business needs.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to prioritize, make sound decisions, and lead through change with agility and confidence.
  • A people-first leader with a passion for developing others, building buy-in at all levels to understand KPIs, expectations, and their impact on results.
  • Deep understanding of operational excellence, including planning allocations, merchandising and product movement, labour management, and escalation handling to ensure seamless store execution.
  • Tech-savvy and detail-oriented, with the ability to leverage systems, tools, and data to train teams, execute initiatives, and support consistent performance across the store.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Must have the necessary work authorization to be legally employed in Canada and be 18 years of age or older.
  • Ability to lift and handle packages weighing up to 25 lbs.
  • Ability to move efficiently through the store for long periods of time and as needed for an entire shift.
  • Open and flexible availability to ensure business needs are met, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
