Warehouse Worker - LCBO, Whitby

Position summary

The LCBO is an Ontario government enterprise and one of the world's largest buyers and retailers of beverage alcohol. We are hiring Warehouse Workers to join the outstanding team in our Durham Retail Service Centre facility located at 2000 Boundary Road, Whitby, Ontario, for temporary positions running from October 2026 to January 2027. We are looking for dedicated individuals who are committed to showing up and completing assigned tasks, and who do not mind lifting heavy things.

Your impact

Under the direction of the department supervisor, you will perform a variety of essential warehouse functions to keep operations running smoothly and safely:

• Perform safe case handling, manual offloading of shipping containers, manual case order picking, and manual case palletizing functions
• Manually unload cases of product from containers and trailers with the assistance of powered belt conveyors and step stools
• Physically load and unload cases of beer, wine, spirits, and cider that weigh between 40 lbs (18 kg) and 60 lbs (27 kg)
• Work at heights up to eight stories and work in isolation
• Stand for lengthy periods of time with movement such as reaching, bending, twisting, and walking
• Select, assemble, and prepare pallet orders for customers
• Clean up accidental spills to maintain a safe working environment
• Fill out safety-related checklists, dock sheets, and other required forms, checking purchase orders and inputting small data points into a computer or peripheral devices

Who we're looking for

To qualify for these LCBO careers, applicants must meet the following criteria and complete the required pre-employment screening:

• Required to complete a criminal record check that is paid for by the LCBO
• Ability to follow procedures and work independently with minimal supervision
• Fluent in English, as well as proficient in reading, writing, and basic arithmetic
• Available to work various shift schedules including day shift (8:00 am - 4:00 pm), afternoon shift (4:00 pm - 12:00 am), and midnight shift (12:00 am - 8:00 am)
