Your impact

As a Training/Safety Coordinator with J.D. Irving in St. John's, you will play a crucial role in fostering a secure and knowledgeable work environment.   • Maintain meticulous training and safety documentation, including compliance audits and minutes from Joint Health and Safety Committee (JHSC) meetings.
  • Conduct thorough risk assessments, identify hazards, and implement effective corrective actions.
  • Facilitate engaging training sessions using diverse methods such as in-person instruction, e-learning modules, and hands-on demonstrations.
  • Collaborate closely with managers to pinpoint specific training needs, address knowledge gaps, and communicate opportunities for development.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of training initiatives, tracking individual employee progress.
  • Continuously expand knowledge of HR and safety best practices to provide robust store support.
  • Actively promote and reinforce a strong safety culture within the workplace, including investigating incidents, near misses, and hazards to determine root causes and corrective actions.
  • Strive for 100% completion of all safety and training programs, ensuring the store is fully equipped to deliver G.R.E.A.T customer service and maintain high employee engagement.
