Qualifications and Skills Required
Candidates for this Supervisor X position are required to possess a Grade 12 education along with a valid provincial or inter-provincial Journeyperson designation in an applicable trade related to City of Saskatoon fleet maintenance and management. A recognized Apprenticeship Certificate is preferred. Five years of journeyperson related experience in an applicable trade, including three years of supervisory experience, is essential. Furthermore, a valid WHMIS certificate and a Saskatchewan Class 3A Driver’s Licence, with a current SGI abstract demonstrating a safe driving record, are also required.
The successful candidate will have a demonstrated ability to plan, assign, and supervise the work of subordinates, coupled with a demonstrated ability to mentor, lead, and encourage staff to develop skills and work towards organizational goals. Thorough knowledge of the occupational hazards and safety precautions of the trade is required, alongside considerable knowledge of electronic engines, transmissions, fuel systems, brake systems, and associated components.
