About the Opportunity at LCBO

As a Retail Operations Planning Analyst at the LCBO in Toronto, you will play a crucial role in supporting the extensive retail operations across Ontario. Key Responsibilities and Data Management

A significant part of this role involves assembling and summarizing financial data to create impactful Power BI dashboards, providing essential information and insights to senior management. Developing and maintaining complex, interrelated databases will be a core function, tracking vital metrics such as sales, labour, expense spending, and key performance indicators. Furthermore, you will analyze and critique projects and plans both before and after implementation to ensure value addition, while upholding rigorous data integrity and consistency across all reporting platforms through best practices in data governance. Understanding the nuances of LCBO's retail environment and its status as an Ontario government business entity is paramount, especially when handling sensitive information and ensuring privacy compliance.

Proficiency in SQL for data analysis, reporting, and database management is considered a valuable asset, as is formal training or certification in Power BI or similar analytics software. Experience with various software packages, particularly Microsoft Excel, Access, and Power BI, is expected. A sound understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) is required, as are strong verbal and written communication skills to present complex data in an actionable manner to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. The LCBO is committed to fostering an inclusive workplace, and your contributions will be valued as you help support Ontario businesses and communities.
