As a Part-Time Plumbing/Electrical Sales Associate at Home Depot's Saskatoon South store, you will be instrumental in providing fast, friendly service to our customers. This role emphasizes strong department and product knowledge, ensuring associates can effectively guide customers through their projects from start to finish. You'll focus on customer service, actively seeking out customers to assess their needs and provide assistance, while also being familiar with related items across various departments.

Your Day-to-Day Responsibilities

In this dynamic retail environment, your daily tasks will revolve around ensuring customer satisfaction, driving sales, and continuously building your expertise. Key responsibilities include:

• Ensuring Customer Satisfaction:
• Following Home Depot’s GET Model of customer service including Greeting, Engaging, and Thanking the customer.
• Actively seeking customers throughout the store and escorting customers to appropriate merchandise, regardless of department.
• Asking open-ended questions about the customer’s projects in order to determine their needs and level of expertise.
• Promoting services offered such as Special Services, Tool Rental, Pro Desk, Pro Services, etc., and knowing how to recommend them.
• Driving Sales:
• Discussing available options (good, better, best) and suggesting related items/services outside of the department that the customer may need.
• Educating customers about the whole project.
• Using empowerment programs when necessary to satisfy customers.
• Executing daily stock maintenance: ensuring all products are signed, displayed, and clean.
• Building Skills and Knowledge:
• Maintaining knowledge of all products in your department and adjacent departments.
• Proactively seeking knowledge on all products and services.
• Maintaining Safety and Security:
• Following all safety policies and procedures, as well as Loss Prevention policies and procedures.
