Your Impact and Essential Skills

In this pivotal role, your impact will be significant as you lead the planning, scheduling, and estimation of engineering design activities, from initial concept to construction-ready deliverables. You will drive project success by proactively identifying risks and ensuring consistent delivery across quality, schedule, and cost objectives. Coordinating multidisciplinary engineering teams will be a core responsibility, requiring you to provide clear technical direction and align all project deliverables. You will interpret project scope and specifications to ensure strict compliance with technical, regulatory, and WSP standards, overseeing and approving engineering designs to maintain quality assurance and consistency with overall project goals. Serving as the primary technical interface with clients, you will provide expert guidance on complex engineering challenges. Your support will extend to execution through meticulous cost estimating, thorough risk assessment, effective change management, and comprehensive engineering documentation. Furthermore, you will play a crucial role in mentoring and developing other engineers, thereby strengthening the team's technical capability and overall performance. To excel in this position, you will possess a post-graduate degree in Engineering and hold a P.Eng. or P.Tech. designation. Your professional background will include 10–15 years of EPCM experience within the energy industry, with at least 7–10 years specifically in project engineering roles. Proven experience leading projects and working directly with clients and stakeholders is essential. You will demonstrate strong communication skills, enabling you to act as a trusted client advisor, and a proven ability to manage competing priorities while delivering high-quality work under tight deadlines. Experience coordinating multidisciplinary teams and producing comprehensive project reports is also required, alongside a strong understanding of design optimization, risk management, and engineering best practices.
