Dans un contexte of rapid transformation in provincial and federal regulatory frameworks and an increase in the number of projets subject to environmental assessment processes, notre équipe continues its growth and wishes to welcome a project manager capable of actively contributing to the strategic planning and execution of impact studies and environmental authorizations for major projets. Dans ce rôle, vous interviendrez from the initial design phases of projets to guide site selection and environmental strategies, with the objective of facilitating their regulatory admissibility and social acceptability. Vous serez called upon to play an active role in integrating environmental considerations into engineering decisions and to support nos clients in navigating increasingly complex environmental assessment processes.

Reporting to the National Impact Studies Manager, the successful candidate's main task will be to manage des projets for the team within the framework of impact studies and environmental authorizations processes concerning energy, mining, industrial, and infrastructure sectors. The selected person will assume responsibility for mandates or project components, in collaboration with project directors, and will contribute to the technical and strategic orientation of environmental assessment approaches.

Your Impact

As a Project Manager, Impact Studies, vous will play a pivotal role in ensuring the environmental integrity and regulatory compliance of various initiatives. Your responsibilities will include:

• Supervise des projets d’études d’impact, d’autorisations environnementales ou de disciplines connexes.
• Contribute to the strategic planning and coordination of major projets.
• Advise les équipes d’ingénierie and clients on environmental optimization strategies.
• Lead the coordination of multidisciplinary teams.
• Ensure project management, including continuous budget management, subcontractor management, and regular technical support to clients for problem-solving.
• Lead or contribute to comparative analyses of sites and alternative solutions.
• Ensure that deliverables, including service offers, are completed according to quality standards and within deadlines.
• Apply preventive health and safety management from the drafting of service offers, and maintain exemplary health and safety management throughout project activities.
• Represent WSP during meetings with regulatory authorities and stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with project billing requirements and follow up with clients.
• Perform all other related tasks that may assist in project completion.
• Lead and participate in the preparation of service proposals.
• Contribute to the development of client relationships and the identification of opportunities for complementary mandates.

Skills and Experience

To excel in this administration role and contribute to nos projets, vous should possess the following qualifications and experience:

• Relevant second-cycle university education in the field of impact studies.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in impact studies.
• Knowledge of the Quebec mining sector and the different stages of the mining cycle (exploration, development, operation, and closure).
• Experience working with mining, industrial, or natural resource clients.
• Knowledge of the realities of Abitibi-Témiscamingue and Northern Quebec and issues related to northern and remote region projets.
• Experience collaborating with Indigenous communities and local stakeholders.
• Knowledge of provincial and federal environmental authorization processes.
• Experience in business development and client relationship management.
• Demonstrated experience in coordinating projets subject to provincial or federal environmental assessment processes.
• Bilingualism in French and English.
• Interest in evolving towards increased responsibilities in mandate or client account management.
• Mastery of impact study methodologies in Quebec.
• Mastery of provincial and federal environmental assessment processes and applicable regulations for other types of environmental authorizations in Quebec.
• Creativity and innovative approaches.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Availability for occasional travel in connection with project completion.

Compensation and Perks

WSP offers competitive compensation for this role. The salary range for positions in Quebec (NB, NL, NS, PE, and QC) is $73,000 to $96,900. The final salary may vary based on factors such as education, qualifications, certifications, relevant experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, and business needs. This salary range may be subject to change for operational or commercial purposes.
