About the role

The LCBO, a well-known provincial agency in Ontario, is actively seeking dedicated Customer Service Representatives for a fixed-term summer position in Red Lake, Ontario. This exciting opportunity, based at the 4 Discovery Road store, is designed for individuals passionate about delivering an exceptional customer experience from May 4, 2026, through September 7, 2026. As an integral part of the LCBO team, you will become a friendly and helpful expert, guiding customers through our diverse range of wines, beers, ciders, and spirits. The LCBO prides itself on creating an engaging atmosphere where every customer feels valued and eager to return, making this role perfect for those who thrive on positive interactions and sharing product knowledge. You will receive comprehensive paid training to ensure you are fully equipped with the necessary store operations, product insights, and customer service skills to excel.

Details

Reporting directly to the Store Manager, your primary focus will be to serve customers promptly, courteously, and responsibly using our cash register system, ensuring a positive and memorable customer experience with every transaction. Beyond processing sales, you will play a key role in our community initiatives by asking for donations for our partner charities as part of the Spirit of Sustainability Campaign. Daily tasks will also include participating in customer experience and postal code surveys, receiving and replenishing product on the shelves, and ensuring all products are faced-up for an appealing display. Maintaining a clean, organized, and safe store environment is paramount, which involves promptly addressing spills and broken bottles. This role requires the ability to lift cases of various sizes and weights, up to 40 lbs (18 kg), repeatedly while standing for extended periods throughout your workday.

To thrive in this customer-facing role at the LCBO, candidates must be comfortable working collaboratively with teammates and engaging positively with a diverse range of customers. Prospective employees must be at least 18 years old and legally permitted to work in Canada, possessing a valid SIN, Student, or Work Permit. Bilingualism in English and French is considered a valuable asset. A critical component of this position involves specific availability, particularly for weekend shifts and long holiday weekends. You must be available to work every Friday from 5:00 PM until closing, and all day Saturday and Sunday for 4 to 8-hour shifts. This includes ensuring your availability for key long weekends such as Victoria Day, Canada Day, Civic Holiday, and Labour Day weekend. While these are the core requirements, additional work may be available during the week from Monday to Thursday, based on the specific store needs and operational demands. Schedules are conveniently posted two weeks in advance, though extra shifts may occasionally arise on short notice, requiring some flexibility. Candidates will also need to complete a Criminal Background Check at their own expense before commencing employment with the LCBO.
