We are seeking a highly motivated Junior **Materials** Technician to become a vital part of our Ground **Engineering** and **Materials** Team in **Prince George**, British Columbia. <h3>Your Impact and Responsibilities</h3> In this impactful role, you will champion a strong health, safety, and environmental culture, applying site-specific policies to ensure the well-being of all. You will support interdisciplinary project teams, contributing to complex work that will push your skills to new levels. A key aspect of your work will involve leading and performing **materials** testing field assignments, including soil and concrete testing, both locally in **Prince George** and regionally **across** British Columbia and the Yukon. Furthermore, you will conduct precise laboratory testing in our CCIL certified laboratory, adhering to applicable standards. Collaboration with our wider team of technicians and **engineering** professionals will be essential as you provide crucial technical services related to geotechnical **engineering**, contributing significantly to our regional and northern project portfolio. You will also assist in planning and executing field programs, including mobilization to various regional and northern project sites, making this a diverse and engaging position where you can directly influence major infrastructure initiatives.
<h3>Skills for Success and Why WSP</h3> To excel in this role, candidates should possess a college diploma or degree in Civil **Engineering** Technology. Relevant experience as a **materials** field and laboratory technologist, or a student intern in a related position, is highly valued. The ability to work long, physically demanding hours in various weather conditions, alongside confidence in remote work environments, will set you apart.
