Responsibilities and Operational Excellence

The Data Center Technician plays a vital role in daily operations, ensuring compliance with Microsoft Data Center policies and procedures under the guidance of experienced technicians and management. You will efficiently complete assigned tickets, providing guidance to less experienced technicians on complex tasks and escalating issues to direct-line management when necessary. A fundamental understanding of cabling infrastructure, network, server, and storage equipment is required, alongside the ability to perform diagnostics, troubleshooting, and replacement of IT Data Center technology and equipment. Adherence to security and data management procedures is paramount, including completing all required training and reporting any physical security concerns. Furthermore, active participation in daily safety briefings and compliance with all Environmental & Health Safety (EHS) procedures, including the proper use of equipment and personal protective equipment, is a continuous requirement for all technicians.

Qualifications and Career Development

To be considered for this Data Center Technician position, candidates are required to possess a High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent, coupled with basic knowledge of computer hardware and components. Additionally, at least one year of experience supporting IT equipment or related technology is essential. The role involves physical requirements such as occasionally climbing ladders, frequently climbing stairs, prolonged standing, and occasional lifting of up to 22.5kg.
