About the LCBO Customer Service Role
As a Customer Service Representative with the LCBO in White River, you will play a vital role in creating a positive and memorable shopping experience for every customer. This position is available for Summer 2026, from early May to early September, offering an hourly wage of $20.82. You will be responsible for serving customers efficiently and courteously using the cash register system, ensuring their satisfaction with every interaction. A key part of your day will involve engaging with customers, sharing product knowledge about wine, beer, ciders, and spirits, and inspiring them with the LCBO's wide selection.
Beyond direct customer interaction, your duties will extend to maintaining the store's operational excellence. This includes receiving and replenishing products on shelves, ensuring all items are faced up and organized. You will also contribute to a safe and clean shopping environment by promptly addressing spills and broken bottles. The role requires the ability to lift cases of various sizes and weights, up to 40 lbs (18 kg), repeatedly while standing for long periods throughout your shift. Essential requirements include being legally allowed to work in Canada, possessing a valid SIN, Student, or Work Permit, and being at least 18 years old. Successful applicants will also need to complete a Criminal Background Check at their own expense before commencing employment with the LCBO. While not mandatory, bilingualism in English and French is considered a valuable asset.
A critical aspect of this position is specific availability. You must be available to work Friday evenings from 5:00 PM until close, and be available all day on Saturday and Sunday for shifts ranging from four to eight hours. Furthermore, availability is required for all long weekend periods, including Victoria Day, Canada Day, Civic Holiday, and Labour Day weekends. Additional work may be available during the week, from Monday to Thursday, depending on the store's operational needs. Schedules are typically posted two weeks in advance, though extra shifts may arise on short notice. This role offers a fantastic opportunity to gain valuable customer service experience within a dynamic retail environment.
