The opportunity

This vital role ensures customers receive exceptional service, assisting with inquiries, resolving issues, and creating a positive shopping experience. As a key member of the front-end operations, you will process transactions accurately and efficiently using computerized systems. This position offers part-time hours with the potential to grow into full-time, adapting to business needs and providing valuable cross-training in cashier duties.

Day-to-day

In this role, your primary focus will be to provide excellent customer service while managing various front-end tasks. You will operate essential systems and maintain an organised workspace to ensure smooth operations for our customers.

• Process customer transactions, sales, and refunds through cash registers
• Operate scanners and credit card/debit card terminals
• Provide excellent customer service
• Collect payments and bag purchases for customers
• Keep the checkout area clean and orderly
• Maintain front end department merchandise
• Answering front desk phone and directing calls
• Assist other departments and functions as required
• Able to learn and operate the applicable computer system (D365) used to process orders

Qualifications

To succeed as a Customer Service Associate, you will bring a combination of practical skills and a customer-focused attitude. Your ability to manage tasks efficiently in a dynamic environment will be key.

• Strong mathematical skills and basic computer system knowledge
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
• Customer satisfaction-oriented
• Strong communication and time management skills
• Problem solving and decision making
• Experience as a Retail Cashier is an asset
• Ability to handle moderate physical demands: standing for 4 hours, lift medium size merchandise if required up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to work a variable shift schedule including mornings, evenings and weekends as per business needs.
