You will be responsible for developing and managing key deliverables for mainline construction projects, from initial site selection through to construction completion. This leadership position requires collaborative engagement with real estate, design, operations, and various internal and external partners, thriving in dynamic environments and adeptly navigating complex situations to ensure successful project outcomes for Arc'teryx stores.

Your Impact

You will join the dedicated Store Development Team, a group that collaborates with key stakeholders and strategic partners in the global development of new retail stores. This involves identifying future locations, assessing viability, developing business cases, and working with regional teams to create comprehensive three-year market plans. You will work cross-functionally with operations and directly with the Vice President of Store Development to build new Arc'teryx stores on time and on budget, making a tangible impact on our brand's physical presence and customer experience.

Here are some of the core activities you would be doing as a Construction Project Manager:

  • Managing 10-15 projects annually from site identification through the design and construction process while delivering to key milestones.
  • Providing project estimates while managing scope, schedule, and financials to mitigate overall negative impact to the company.
  • Traveling to job sites as necessary (up to 30% of time) to meet with City inspectors, landlords, general contractors, and external consultants to ensure a successful store opening.
  • Maintaining strong relationships with cross-functional partners to consistently develop and evolve our processes and relationships.
  • Managing communications with Senior Leadership, including program-level status reporting.

Looking ahead, you could be working on exciting future initiatives such as:

  • Guiding the evolution of our internal construction management processes.
  • Creating cross-functional practices and programming that elevates our store execution.
  • Leading the execution of Arc’teryx pinnacle and high-profile store expressions.

What You'll Bring

To excel in this Construction Project Manager role, you will possess a robust background in construction and project management, coupled with a passion for retail development. Your ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, coupled with strong communication and problem-solving skills, will be key to your success in building new Arc'teryx stores.

  • A Bachelor's degree or postsecondary education in architecture, construction management, engineering, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of project management experience within a retail construction environment, including experience with store development processes, vendor management, and client relations.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing a portfolio of projects from identification through to project close-out.
  • Experience managing construction budgets, leading value engineering conversations, and negotiating change orders.
  • Versatility with exceptional time management skills, able to manage multiple projects in various stages at any one time in the life cycle of a project.
  • Ability and willingness to travel to required markets and store sites up to 40% of the time.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, Excel, Project, SharePoint, Smartsheet, Procore, Blue Beam, or equivalent industry-standard software.
  • Highly self-motivated, detail-oriented, and dependable.
  • A commitment to seeking the best solutions, with an unwavering dedication to doing what is right.
  • Ability to effectively balance autonomy and collaboration.
  • Superb communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • An inspiring approach to breakthrough thinking and continuous improvement.
  • A strong work ethic with utmost integrity, striving to excel and succeed in everything you do.
