You will be responsible for the comprehensive planning, precise execution, and rigorous control of all assigned water management projects. This includes meticulously managing project scope, adhering to budgets, maintaining schedules, and efficiently allocating project resources. Continuous monitoring of project progress and ensuring the highest quality of technical deliverables are crucial aspects of this management position. Furthermore, you will proactively identify and mitigate project delivery risks, safeguarding project integrity and success. A key aspect of this role involves coordinating diverse multidisciplinary teams, including specialists in hydrology, geotechnical engineering, environmental science, tailings management, and infrastructure. Serving as the primary client contact, you will also contribute strategically to business development efforts, fostering strong relationships and expanding WSP's footprint in water resources engineering. Your expertise will support essential hydrological studies, precise water balances, and critical dam breach analyses, reinforcing WSP's commitment to excellence in every project.
Cultivating Professional Excellence and Expertise To excel as a Senior Professional and Project Manager at WSP, candidates typically possess a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in civil engineering, water resources engineering, or a closely related discipline. Registration as a Professional Engineer with the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ) is a fundamental requirement, underscoring the professional standards we uphold. Proven experience as a Project Manager, ideally within the mining or heavy industry sectors, is essential for navigating the unique challenges of our projects. Fluency in French is required, with functional English also being necessary for effective communication across our diverse teams and client base. Experience with advanced hydrology and hydraulic modelling software, such as HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, GoldSim, PCSWMM, or FLO-2D, is considered a significant asset, enhancing your technical capabilities in water management.
