Key Responsibilities and Expertise

The successful individual will be responsible for deploying approved Economical loss cost control programs and leveraging technology to investigate, negotiate, and settle moderate to complex personal claims as assigned. A critical part of the role involves developing and meticulously recording information pertaining to each claim and its coverage, meticulously documenting notes in the appropriate systems to drive the claim towards a timely closure. Interpreting complex policy wordings to make accurate coverage decisions is essential. Maintaining strong relationships and providing accurate direction to appropriate vendors and experts, all within corporate guidelines, is paramount. Candidate Profile and Benefits

Candidates for this Senior Catastrophic Claims Representative position should bring a minimum of two years' experience as a property claim adjuster or appraiser. A university degree, college diploma, or CIP designation is considered a valuable asset. Thorough knowledge of Xactware software, including experience writing estimates in Xactimate for both interior and exterior property damages and navigating Xactanalysis, is required. Experience using other estimating software such as PLNAR, HOVER, or Eagleview is also an asset. The successful applicant must demonstrate the ability to create detailed repair scopes and estimates on moderately complex losses, coupled with strong verbal and written communication skills and the capacity to work autonomously. Professionalism, a friendly and courteous demeanour, flexibility, and the ability to remain calm under pressure are essential qualities. Bilingualism in French and English is a strong asset. While deployed on catastrophic events, the expected workday is 12 hours per day, 6 or 7 days per week, with a regular 36.25-hour week when not deployed.
