Key Responsibilities and Requirements

As a Seasonal Labourer during the filling of the potato warehouses, your responsibilities will include backing in potato trucks for unloading into storage buildings and diligently collecting potato samples from trucks to monitor potato quality. You will also be responsible for maintaining a clean and safe work environment by shovelling dirt and debris away from the product line around equipment. There is also the opportunity to operate equipment used in the potato warehouses, such as Bin-pilers, and for qualified individuals, Skid-Steers, Forklifts, and Wheel-Loaders. The successful candidate must have a valid driver’s licence or reliable transportation to ensure consistent attendance. The physical demands of this role require the ability to lift up to 40lbs (18kgs) and perform manual physical labour. Candidates must demonstrate the ability to work independently within a fast-paced team environment and possess a willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions throughout the harvest season. A high degree of attention to detail and a demonstrated ability to multi-task are crucial. Previous forklift or skid steer experience, along with mechanical aptitude or prior experience working in farm operations, would be considered valuable assets. Availability to work extended hours, including evenings and weekends, up to 7 days a week and 10 – 16-hour days during the peak harvest season, is a fundamental requirement for this position.
