Your impact
As a Mechanical Field Engineer, your contributions will be central to the successful delivery of this vital project. You will provide essential technical guidance and oversight, ensuring that construction activities align with engineering designs and project standards. Your impact will be felt across various stages of the project, from initial coordination to final closeout.
- Coordinate engineering, construction, and contractor activities to support safe and successful project delivery.
- Provide technical guidance during construction by interpreting drawings, specifications, and design documentation.
- Monitor field execution to ensure work aligns with approved IFC drawings, project requirements, and quality standards.
- Support the installation of mechanical, electrical, and civil components across the gold processing facility.
- Resolve RFIs, field change requests, and technical challenges to maintain project momentum and minimize rework.
- Partner with QA/QC teams to support inspections, test plans, turnover documentation, and project closeout activities.
- Track project progress, quantities, and productivity metrics to support effective reporting and decision-making.
- Champion HSEQ excellence while fostering a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement on site.
Skills and experience
To excel in this Mechanical Field Engineer role, you will bring a robust combination of academic knowledge and practical experience in industrial construction, particularly within the mining sector. Your technical expertise and problem-solving abilities will be crucial in navigating the complexities of a large-scale project.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, with Mechanical Engineering preferred.
- Minimum 7 years of field engineering experience supporting industrial construction projects.
- Experience in mining or mineral processing projects, with gold processing experience considered a strong asset.
- Demonstrated ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
- Strong knowledge of Canadian construction practices, applicable codes, and industry standards.
- Experience working within EPCM project environments is considered an asset.
- Proven problem-solving and decision-making capabilities in fast-paced field environments.
- Ability to work rotational site schedules in remote locations and challenging weather conditions while maintaining a strong commitment to safety.
