Key Duties

The successful applicant will be responsible for a range of accommodation and support service tasks critical to maintaining our high standards of cleanliness and hygiene. Key duties for this Janitor/Cleaner/Aide position include:

• Comprehensive cleaning, including patient rooms.
• Frequent dry/wet mopping of large floor spaces, including Food Services kitchen, dish room, production areas, and dining rooms.
• Frequent pick up, transport, and disposal of waste, cardboard, and soiled linen.
• Quality assessment.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

To be considered for this essential role within Halton Healthcare, applicants must meet the following requirements. This position demands a strong physical ability and the capacity to work independently in a fast-paced healthcare setting. • Secondary school diploma or equivalent required.
• Good communication skills; must be able to read, write, and speak English.
• Minimum one year recent housekeeping experience, preferably in a healthcare environment.
• Ability to work independently.
• Ability to lift up to fifty (50) pounds.
• Ability to climb a 4-step platform ladder with handrail.
• Able to operate heavy machinery.
• Must be able to perform the physical demands of the position.
• Satisfactory employment and attendance record required.
