The Opportunity
Halton Healthcare invites dedicated Registered Nurses to join our team in Milton, ON, within the Special Care Nursery. This vital role focuses on providing comprehensive care for neonates who require moderate to high-risk care in a Level II setting. Key Duties
As a Registered Nurse in the Special Care Nursery, your primary responsibility will be to provide expert care for neonates. This involves a commitment to family-centred care and a proactive approach to patient well-being. Your duties will include:
- Providing care for neonates requiring moderate to high-risk care in a Level II setting.
- Assessing infant needs and planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care plans.
- Demonstrating commitment to family-centred care within the Level II environment.
Who We're Looking For
We are seeking a Registered Nurse who is passionate about patient-centred care and thrives in a dynamic, rapidly changing healthcare environment. The ideal candidate will be ready to drive change and innovation, possessing excellent communication skills and a clear patient focus. To be considered for this role, the following qualifications and attributes are required:
- Current Registration in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
- Current BCLS certification required at time of hire.
- NICU course certificate and/or equivalent.
- Breastfeeding certification required.
- Neonatal Resuscitation Provider Certificate required.
- Evidence of continuing education relevant to a Special Care Nursery setting.
- Minimum 2 years recent experience in Neonatal Nursing (Level II or III setting).
- Proficiency in IV and phlebotomy skills.
- Demonstrated ability to assess infant needs and to plan, implement, and assess patient care.
- Demonstrated commitment to family-centred care within a Level II environment.
- Good interpersonal skills and the ability to prioritize effectively.
- Ability to meet the physical demands of the position.
- Satisfactory employment and attendance record required.
- Ability to manage execution and foster teamwork and cooperation.
