As a Flooring Associate with J.D. Irving in Antigonish, you will play a crucial role in guiding customers through their flooring projects. Your primary focus will be to understand their specific needs and assist them in selecting the right products that meet their requirements. • Drive sales through active engagement of customers, suggestive selling, and sharing comprehensive product knowledge.
• Clarify and understand customers’ needs to guide them to the best solution(s) for their projects.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of current sales and promotions to inform customers effectively.
• Take initiative and confidently direct customer interactions.
• Produce accurate quotes and material lists, and ensure timely follow-up.
• Demonstrate high standards of safety and exceptional customer service.
• Resolve customer challenges quickly and efficiently.
• Continually learn about new products and market conditions to stay informed.

• Excellent communication skills and a strong team player mentality.
• Proven sales and customer service experience.
• Possess a high level of attention to details.
• Ability to lift 55 lbs.
• Ability to work days, evenings, and weekends on rotating shifts.
• Ability to learn and operate the applicable computer system (D635) used to process orders.
• A Grade 12 diploma or equivalent is considered an asset.
