About the Role

Intertek, a world leader in Quality Assurance, is seeking an EMS/OHS/QMS Third Party Auditor to join our Business Assurance team. This role is based in our Mississauga, Ontario office, offering a fantastic opportunity to develop a versatile career in third-party auditing. While this is a remote position, applicants must reside in and be legally eligible to work in Canada.

Key Responsibilities

As an EMS/OHS/QMS Third Party Auditor, you will represent Intertek and the audit team to clients. Your responsibilities will include developing audit plans and coordinating travel arrangements for audits as needed. You will evaluate clients' management systems through documentation review, on-site observation, and interviews, identifying and documenting areas of conformance and nonconformance. You will be responsible for writing comprehensive reports and recommendations based on your audit findings, as well as evaluating and approving client corrective actions. Additionally, you will submit time and expense reports in a timely manner, and may be requested to train, mentor, and witness audit teammates as part of the auditor qualification process. Adherence to Intertek's Compliance Code, Policies, and Procedures is essential.

What You'll Bring

To be successful in this role, you will possess education, advanced coursework, training, and experience in environmental, safety, and quality management. A minimum of five years of professional experience in industry is required, along with proficiency in both spoken and written English. You should have a strong knowledge of manufacturing systems principles and practices, as well as EMS/OHS laws and regulations. Experience in the implementation and/or auditing of ISO management systems is essential. A valid driver’s licence and a reliable driving record are also required, as you must have the ability to travel 75% of the time by plane or car. Furthermore, you must have completed ISO 9001, ISO 14001, or ISO 45001 Lead Auditor Training, and third-party auditing experience is preferred. The position requires physical dexterity to perform assessment functions, including investigating all areas of client facilities, which may involve bending, stooping, reaching, and climbing. You must be able to stand and walk for typical full shifts of six to eight hours, and be comfortable with exposure to various industrial environments. Effective verbal and written communication skills are necessary, along with the ability to read and comprehend technical reports and computer screens. Close visual acuity is needed for analysing data and figures, and performing visual inspections.

Compensation & Benefits

The salary range for this position is $90,000 to $110,000 per year. Individual compensation packages are determined based on a variety of factors unique to each candidate, including skill set, experience, qualifications, and other job-related reasons. In addition to competitive compensation, Intertek employees are eligible for a comprehensive benefits package.
