Reporting to the Manager or designate, the Emergency Medical Technician responds to both emergency and non-emergency events. This critical role involves providing essential assessment, treatment, and transportation of ill or injured persons, all while adhering to The Saskatchewan Ambulance Act and Regulations, Saskatchewan College of Paramedics (SCoP) Clinical Practice Protocols, The Paramedics Act and bylaws, and Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA) policies, procedures, and work standards.
Key Duties
As an Emergency Medical Technician, your primary responsibilities will include:
- Responding promptly to emergency and non-emergency medical events.
- Providing thorough assessment, treatment, and safe transportation for ill or injured persons.
Skills and Experience

- Primary Care Paramedic Certificate from an approved educational institute
- Valid Class 4 driver's license

- International Trauma Life Support Certificate (ITLS)
- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Certificate (CPR)
- Basic Life Support Certificate (BLS)

- Familiarity with the SK Ministry of Health Ambulance Information System
- Decision making through the application of knowledge and critical thinking
- Physically able to perform the duties of pre-hospital emergency care
- Demonstrated ability to use sound clinical judgement
- Ability to work independently and as a member of a team
- Demonstrates the ability to be resourceful and to adapt to changing conditions
