Electrician - J.D. Irving, New Annan

About the role

Reporting to the Electrical Supervisor, the Industrial Electrician will be a self-starter with a Can Do attitude and the ability to adapt in a fast paced, dynamic, continuous 4 x 4, 12-hour shift schedule work environment. This is a full-time position in New Annan, PEI, with English as the language of work. Cavendish Farms is a family-run company and a leading producer of frozen potato products.

Requirements

• Must possess Industrial Red Seal/ Block Electrician Certificate.
• 2-5 years of experience in the electrical field.
• Experience in instrumentation and/or electronics would be considered an asset.
• Familiarity with CMMS would be considered an asset.
• Previous PLC experience, including installation and troubleshooting preferred.
• Ability to work all rotation shifts, weekends and overtime as required.
• Willing and able to work in various work environments i.e. heat, cold, wet, etc.
• Ability to work with a minimum supervision.
• Ability to change electric motors and switches as required.

What you'll do

• Promote and maintain a safe work environment.
• Follow all safety and food safety policies and procedures.
• Analyze, inspect, repair, troubleshoot, advise and maintain electrical systems throughout Cavendish Farms facility including all production and facility equipment.
• Day to day maintenance of equipment.
• Trouble shooting, preventive and predictive maintenance.
• Involvement in projects and new equipment installations.
• Participation in or conducting training on familiarity with equipment.
• Be willing and able to learn all aspects of the business inside of all departments.
• Communicate with production personnel and technical staff within maintenance and suppliers.
• Installations of other electrical/electronic-related functions.
