Day-to-day
The successful Academic Neurologist will engage in a dynamic range of responsibilities, blending direct patient care with significant academic contributions within the neurology department at Sunnybrook. This includes both clinical duties and dedicated time for teaching and research, supporting the next generation of dementia care providers.
- Provide essential outpatient clinical care in dementia, including assessment, diagnosis, and management of cognitive disorders and dementia.
- Identify patients appropriate for novel therapies and support patient recruitment to the team’s academic projects.
- Participate in shared general neurology call and inpatient consultation services.
- Manage related outpatient clinical responsibilities.
- Maintain an outpatient clinical practice with protected time for teaching.
- Support divisional research and quality-improvement initiatives.
- Potentially coordinate a cognitive neurology rotation for resident trainees.
