The Opportunity
The University of Toronto, in collaboration with the Division of Neurology, Department of Medicine at University Health Network/Sinai Health System (UHN/SHS) and the Temerty Faculty of Medicine, is actively seeking a dedicated full-time, permanent Academic Neurologist. This pivotal role is based in Toronto, Ontario, and focuses primarily on epilepsy, offering a unique chance to contribute to advanced patient care and academic excellence within a leading Canadian institution.
Candidates will be considered for a full-time clinical academic appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor or higher. There is a strong preference for individuals who align with the position description of Clinician in Quality Improvement at the University of Toronto, demonstrating a commitment to enhancing healthcare delivery and outcomes through scholarly initiatives.
Your Impact
As an Academic Epilepsy Neurologist, you will play a crucial role in clinical service, teaching, and scholarly activities. Your clinical service will be delivered within the Division of Neurology at the Krembil Brain Institute, encompassing on-call, inpatient, and ambulatory care. Teaching responsibilities will align with the requirements of the Division of Neurology, contributing to the education of future medical professionals.
For those appointed as a Clinician in Quality Improvement, scholarly excellence will be assessed through a comprehensive review of your contributions, including:
- Advanced training in quality improvement or equivalent methodologies
- Successful implementation of quality improvement initiatives
- Evidence of practice and/or equipment innovations
- Invited presentations at significant conferences
- Awards, accolades, and other related accomplishments in the field
Requirements
Prospective candidates must possess an MD degree or equivalent. Eligibility for certification in Neurology by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada is essential, along with licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO).
The academic appointment will be situated within the Division of Neurology, Department of Medicine, University of Toronto.
