Role Overview: Manager, Workday & HCM
As the Manager, Workday & HCM, you will join Canadian Tire's team in Toronto, reporting to the AVP, Workday & HR Platforms. This pivotal administration role is responsible for supporting the performance and results of the Workday Systems team. You will provide day-to-day support on the delivery of Workday configurations, system support, testing, and troubleshooting, ensuring our high-performing Workday team can create new functionality and enhancements that benefit the entire organization. Day-to-Day Responsibilities
Your daily activities will involve a blend of strategic leadership and hands-on technical support, ensuring the seamless operation and continuous improvement of Canadian Tire's Workday platform. Key responsibilities include:
- Acting as a Workday subject matter expert for Workday Human Capital Management (HCM) and security modules, with hands-on knowledge of Core HCM, Security & Benefits, and working knowledge in other Workday modules such as recruiting, compensation, payroll, learning, talent, time tracking, absence management, and help.
- Leading a high-performing and dynamic team of Workday system configuration professionals.
- Partnering with functional teams to review business requirements, recommend process improvements, and deploy system enhancements.
- Leading the team in the maintenance and enhancements of various Workday configurations, including business processes, notifications, setup values, condition, and eligibility rules.
- Leading and managing various types and levels of testing, such as unit testing, end-to-end testing, user acceptance, and regression testing.
- Working closely with technical partners to troubleshoot and resolve any integration issues, ensuring accurate and timely data flow between systems, vendors, and external providers.
- Leading and supporting the successful execution of Workday’s semi-annual releases to deliver new functionality and enhancements.
- Collaborating with functional and technical partners to streamline and improve processes and provide recommendations.
- Leading the maintenance of CTC’s Workday security framework and new security initiatives, including the development of new custom security roles and security for new integrations.
- Building, testing, and uploading Enterprise Interface Builders (EIBs) mass data uploads as needed.
- Supporting internal and external audit requirements.
Qualifications and Experience

- 4 - 7 years of hands-on functional Workday experience.

- Strong problem-solving skills with an ability to identify and resolve complex, multi-dimensional problems.

- Exceptional collaboration skills with an ability to influence and drive change and contribute to overall operational effectiveness.
