VIP Server - Cineplex, Toronto

What you'll do

As a VIP Server at Cineplex Cinemas Varsity and VIP, you will be an ambassador for the unique VIP experience, transforming the traditional movie-going experience for our guests. This role is central to providing exceptional service in an adults-only environment, featuring licensed lounges, luxurious reserved seats, and a diverse menu of great food and drinks. You will ensure positive guest interactions, making every guest feel welcome, comfortable, important, and relaxed while maximizing tip potential through enthusiastic service and up-selling.

Key responsibilities for VIP Servers include:

• Enthusiastically receiving guests in the VIP lounge and auditoriums, engaging them in friendly conversation and setting the tone for a personalized VIP experience.
• Selling and up-selling food and drinks, including cocktails, martinis, beer, wine, appetizers, entrees, and desserts.
• Preparing the service environment by setting tables, laying out napkins and utensils, refilling condiments, and performing other preparation tasks.
• Serving food and alcohol to guests seated in both the lounge and auditoriums, covering all available food, concessions, and alcoholic beverages.
• Staying updated on current menu options, specialties, and menu deviations, sharing in-depth menu expertise with guests to promote products and services.
• Maintaining a clean and well-organized workspace by washing glassware and utensils after each use, and performing basic cleaning tasks as directed by Managers.
• Utilizing training from Smart Serve Ontario to responsibly determine appropriate levels of alcohol service for guests.

Skills and experience

Cineplex is seeking dynamic, energetic, and experienced individuals who are passionate about delivering outstanding service in the food and beverage industry. A strong focus on positive guest interactions and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment are essential. Experience in serving food and alcohol, along with a commitment to responsible service practices as guided by Smart Serve Ontario training, will be key to success in this VIP role.
