University Health Network (UHN) is actively seeking an experienced professional to join their team as a Senior Project Manager, Planning. This pivotal role within the Facilities Management, Planning, Redevelopment and Operations (FM-PRO) department involves taking a leadership position in the management, organisation, and orchestration of all aspects of planning for renovation projects within a designated portfolio. As a Senior Project Manager, you will collaborate closely with FM-PRO Leadership, UHN Executive Project Sponsors, and staff to develop and plan complex, multi-divisional, and/or large-scale renovation projects, often with high dependencies on other capital project initiatives prioritised by the organisation. The Senior Project Manager will lead multidisciplinary teams through the project development and planning phases, frequently engaging with the Ministry of Health (MOH) and coordinating internal and external stakeholder oversight and collaboration. Responsibilities include developing projects from initial concept through detailed design, and actively engaging the Redevelopment team from the earliest stages to ensure a seamless transition for project implementation. This role is central to effective project management within UHN, contributing significantly to University Health Network jobs in Toronto.

• Lead and drive the planning phase of complex and/or large scale renovation projects, including development and approval of project scope, schedules, and budgets.
• Develop and implement strategies to manage user group planning processes effectively.
• Act as the primary liaison between UHN Stakeholders and Consultant teams to ensure efficient and accurate information exchange.
• Perform financial management activities, including project budgeting, cost tracking, and cash flow forecasting.
• Prepare, review, and maintain project documentations, including contracts.
• Hire and supervise Consultants, ensuring alignment with project objectives. Negotiate revisions, changes, and additions to contractual agreements with Consultants.
• Review and perform quality control of design documents submitted by Consultants.
• Develop and implement strategies for risk mitigation and resolution throughout the project planning phase.
• Compile and archive project documentations at the end of the planning phase, including documentation of lessons learned.
• Collaborate with the Redevelopment team to ensure smooth handover from planning to implementation.
• Managing all aspects of human resources for a team of 1-3 direct reports.
• Perform administrative tasks to support efficient departmental operations.
• Execute cross-functional responsibilities as assigned.
• Undertake other duties consistent with the role as required.

Who We're Looking For

University Health Network is seeking a Senior Project Manager with a robust background in project management, particularly within the health or public sector. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership capabilities, exceptional communication skills, and a proven track record in managing complex planning initiatives. • Bachelor’s degree in Health Administration, Architecture, Engineering, Design Technology, or an equivalent recognized discipline.
• Graduate level studies in Project Management, Business Administration or other Management highly desirable.
• Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in Architectural, Engineering, or Project Management within the health or public sector, or healthcare program and strategic project management.
• Minimum of 7 years related experience in space planning, functional planning, health care design or project delivery in health care or mission-critical industry required.
• Proven ability to coordinate and facilitate multi-stakeholder meetings, including preparing agendas, presentation materials, and meeting minutes.
• Strong computer literacy and proficiency in project management tools.
• Knowledge of building codes and standards applicable to acute healthcare environments (asset).
• Familiarity with OAA and CCDC contract frameworks (asset).
• PMP certification (asset).
• Experience with Ministry of Health (MOH) Capital Planning processes (asset).
• Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Strong time management and organisational abilities, including task prioritisation.
• Advanced problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to produce high-quality reports and meet strict deadlines.
