About this opportunity
Intertek, a world leader in the Quality Assurance market, is seeking a Senior Project Engineer to join its Building & Construction team in Mississauga, ON. This is a unique opportunity to advance your engineering career within the Testing, Inspection, and Certification (TIC) industry, contributing to the safety and quality of building products across Canada and the US.
As a Senior Project Engineer, you will be instrumental in managing complex projects focused on the regulatory compliance and certification of building products and assemblies. Your expertise will directly support Intertek's certification programs and foster engagement with various external industries and technical associations, ensuring the highest standards of quality assurance.
Key duties
In this dynamic role, your responsibilities will include:
- Develop in-depth knowledge and understanding of building codes and related product standards through research and review, including witnessing testing at the laboratory.
- Work on engineering evaluations for regulatory compliance in Canada and US markets for both standardized and innovative building materials/assemblies.
- Prepare technical and certification documentation derived from test results and evaluations.
- Help write compliance research reports, create Listing reports through Intertek's certification program, and manage QA programs.
- Perform audits and product sampling at client manufacturing facilities.
- Collaborate closely with sales, laboratory, and technical teams to support seamless project execution.
- Manage assigned projects from initiation to completion, ensuring quality, accuracy, and timely delivery with continuous communication with clients.
- Participate actively in industry committees, standards development activities, and technical association meetings.
- Interact with clients, accreditors and/or Authority Having Jurisdiction to resolve any matters.
- Promote new business opportunities.
- Perform other work as required such as Project reviews.
- Perform billable projects.
What you'll bring

- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, architecture, construction management, or a related field.
- Minimum of five years of experience in technical writing, regulatory compliance, and familiarity with the testing, inspection, and certification industry.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent leadership and team building skills.
- Must be able to work independently in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment.
- Collaborative mindset with the ability to lead and influence cross-functional teams.
- Microsoft Office software expertise.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Be able to travel within Canada and USA.
- P.ENG required.
