What you'll do
As a Senior Java Developer within the Counterparty Credit Risk group at TD Securities, you will play a pivotal role in building the next generation of risk computation platforms. This team's core mission is to help the firm quantify, understand, and reduce its external total exposure in adverse market conditions. You will operate in a modern and complex area of finance, working with sophisticated computational models that support billions of calculations daily and leverage Big Data storage for analytics and data distribution.
- Architect and develop risk applications using microservices patterns, distributed caching, and stream processing, aiming to scale to hundreds of billions of computations daily.
- Architect and develop efficient on-demand pricing solutions for various financial instruments.
- Deliver large-scale P&L and risk-impacting projects that support business growth opportunities and regulatory requirements for trading and sales functions.
- Develop tooling and processes to enhance the overall efficiency of the development team.
- Work collaboratively with both technical and non-technical teams across TD to solve complex business and technology challenges.
- Provide technical leadership to the group and beyond, adopting a scalability and stability-first approach to design and implementation.
- Adopt a client-centric approach in support of our business growth models, ensuring solutions meet client needs.
- Leverage industry-standard DevOps practices and tooling for Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD), Test-Driven Development (TDD), and build processes.
This challenging role also provides significant career growth opportunities. You will contribute to the technical direction of future versions of our risk platform, develop a deep understanding of securities pricing and risk across different asset classes, and engage directly with global stakeholders in a dynamic environment.
