The Opportunity for a Senior Guidewire Integration Specialist
As a Senior Guidewire Integration Developer at Definity, you will play a pivotal role in designing, developing, and maintaining critical integrations between Guidewire applications and various external systems. This position is central to enhancing Definity's capabilities within the Property & Casualty insurance domain, leveraging your deep technical expertise in Guidewire PolicyCenter and associated integration frameworks. You will lead and implement new Guidewire integrations, actively participating in design discussions and solutioning for target states, while also performing hands-on development. A significant part of this role involves modernizing legacy integrations through microservices-based solutions and architecture, ensuring Definity remains at the forefront of technical innovation. Collaborating closely with business subject matter experts and business analysts, you will design and develop comprehensive approaches for integration, provide accurate effort estimations, and create detailed design documents. Your work will directly impact how Definity delivers its insurance products and services, making this a truly impactful role.
Key Responsibilities and Required Expertise
This role demands strong hands-on experience with the Guidewire Integration Framework, Gosu programming, SOAP/REST APIs, web services, XML/XSD/JSON, and various Messaging Systems like MQ and Kafka. You will be responsible for designing, developing, configuring, and unit testing InsuranceSuite integration enhancements, as well as supporting defect resolution during the testing phase. Furthermore, you will assist with production support for the platform by analysing logs, identifying potential problems and defects, and conducting root cause analysis for the highly available business solution. Adherence to Definity’s methodology and best practices, including secure coding and Guidewire best practices, is paramount to ensure high-quality product delivery.
Candidates should bring at least five years of experience in Guidewire, specifically with PolicyCenter and BillingCenter, with a strong focus on integrations. A profound understanding of platform integration patterns and APIs, coupled with proven experience architecting and leading the integration of multiple complex systems, is essential. The ability to own and lead solution discussions, make critical technical decisions, and develop robust technical solutions with minimal guidance is highly valued. Superior verbal and written communication skills are necessary for presenting complex technical solutions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
