<h3>The Opportunity for a Senior Claims Specialist</h3> <p>Definity is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Specialist, Casualty Large Complex & Specialty Claims to join our dynamic team in Waterloo, Ontario. This pivotal senior role is responsible for the end-to-end management of a diverse portfolio of complex casualty claims, including those involving significant specialty losses and intricate multinational exposure. You will play a crucial part in developing and executing effective claims strategies that drive optimal outcomes, requiring close collaboration with key stakeholders such as underwriting, reinsurance, actuarial, and senior leadership. This position offers a unique opportunity to leverage your extensive experience to advance claims capabilities, supporting our growth in emerging markets and specialty lines within the Canadian insurance landscape. <h3>Bringing Your Expertise and Experience to Definity</h3> <p>To excel in this Senior Specialist role, candidates must possess a robust background in complex claims management. We require a minimum of 8 to 10 years of progressive claims handling experience, with demonstrated expertise specifically in high-value and complex casualty claims. Your experience should encompass the full lifecycle of claims, including matters involving coverage concerns and emerging or novel issues. While not mandatory, experience managing Environmental, Abuse, Construction, Coverage B, Class Actions, Marine, and National Accounts with specialised service agreements is considered a strong asset, reflecting the diverse and specialty nature of claims you will encounter. Strong candidates will demonstrate advanced technical expertise and thought leadership across all aspects of claims handling, including comprehensive coverage analysis, thorough investigation, precise evaluation, strategic litigation management, and expert coordination. A university degree in any discipline, a two-year college diploma from a provincially recognised and funded institution, or a fully completed Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP) designation is expected.</p>
