A core responsibility will be to build and maintain complex financial models, including detailed valuation, synergy analysis, and accretion/dilution calculations. You will provide critical support for the execution of acquisitions, financings, and divestitures across structuring, thorough diligence, documentation, and integration phases. Monitoring Canadian property and casualty industry trends will be essential, alongside developing and maintaining comprehensive benchmarking databases and presentations. The position also involves performing credit analysis and covenant monitoring for broker investments, ensuring financial stability. Beyond these core duties, you will mentor junior team members, offering guidance and technical support, and support broader corporate initiatives and strategic projects as required. Candidates should bring 3-5 years of relevant experience in finance, accounting, or related fields, with a preference for experience in corporate development, investment banking, private equity, or strategy. Prior experience in financial services, particularly insurance, is considered a significant asset. A strong undergraduate degree in finance, accounting, economics, engineering, or a related field with excellent academic performance is required. Progress toward or completion of a CPA, CFA, or CBV designation is also expected. Advanced Excel and financial modelling skills, coupled with strong attention to detail, are paramount. A solid understanding of financial accounting and the impact of business decisions on financial statements is crucial, alongside proven analytical and problem-solving skills.
