About the Role

The University Health Network (UHN) is seeking a dedicated Research Strategy Development Specialist I to join its Strategic Research Projects team in Toronto. This temporary full-time position is crucial for supporting the development and implementation of institution-level strategic projects across UHN. Working closely with management and various stakeholders, you will play a key role in advancing UHN's vital research and development initiatives.

In this role, you will contribute to the strategic planning and execution of significant projects, ensuring alignment of goals and effective communication. Your expertise will be instrumental in documenting current and future states, tracking progress, and performing essential analysis. What You'll Do

As a Research Strategy Development Specialist I, your responsibilities will involve a blend of analytical, facilitative, and project management tasks, all aimed at driving strategic initiatives forward.

• Analyze business needs, problems, opportunities, and solution scope.
• Evaluate and validate solution value and benefits to the organization, supporting business case development and return on investment analysis.
• Facilitate process and design workshops with multidisciplinary groups to identify, validate, and document clinical, business, and technical requirements.
• Conduct workflow review and process redesign, and support continuous improvement processes.
• Coordinate system design, build, and testing.
• Apply rigorous project management techniques to assist in the management and documentation of project plans, schedules, status reports, and budgets.
• Apply sound change management techniques for effective stakeholder engagement and communications, training, and implementation support.
• Develop an adequate level of knowledge of the subject matter and digital systems being implemented to effectively move projects forward.
• Build and maintain momentum on project progress through tracking project milestones, risks and issues, proactive stakeholder engagement, and driving issue resolution to deliver projects within the planned budget, schedule, and with a high level of quality.

Who We're Looking For

We are seeking a proactive individual with a strong foundation in strategic development and project execution, eager to contribute to the University Health Network's mission. The ideal candidate will possess a blend of academic knowledge and practical experience, ready to take on challenging projects.

• BA/BSc in Health Informatics or Administration, Technology, Science, Business, or a related field (graduate degree preferred), combined with practical and related experience in the field.
• Experience supporting research administration, study start-up, or research operations is considered an asset.
• Sound knowledge of project management standards.
• Experience in applying change management methodologies and tools.
• Project Management Professional (PMP) or Change Management certification is an asset.
• Effective organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills; experience with workshop facilitation is an asset.
• Self-starter with the ability to work independently, prioritize, and get things done.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and dealing with ambiguity.
• Knowledge of applicable legislative, UHN, and/or departmental policies is an asset.
