Seize a pivotal opportunity to lead as a Project Manager for the groundbreaking Ontario Line Elevated Guideway and Stations project. This multi-billion-dollar transit initiative requires an innovative professional to drive critical civil, stations, and guideway work across its northern portion. You will be a key influencer in ensuring the successful delivery of this complex construction project, overseeing activities that encompass engineering, design, and actual construction phases. The Project Manager for Elevated Guideway and Stations will specifically be responsible for the comprehensive oversight of Technical and Design Services throughout the entire project lifecycle. This includes ensuring all designs are compliant, safe, meet the constructability needs of the construction teams, and are highly cost-efficient from a total project cost perspective. Furthermore, this role supports crucial contract and schedule management, maintains construction quality, ensures site safety and security, manages project deliverables, and provides essential technical input for program communications and intergovernmental relations during all stages of construction projects. This position operates within a collaborative matrix structure and requires regular site presence at project locations across Ontario.
In this highly collaborative “One Team” environment, you will work seamlessly with a diverse project team, resolving complex project issues and risks while effectively managing stakeholder expectations. Your expertise will drive the efficient delivery of all project elements, from detailed design and contract document preparation through to construction, robust contract management, and commissioning activities. You will meticulously monitor and achieve objectives related to engineering standards, technical specifications, document control, budget adherence, work breakdown structures, and critical project schedules. A key aspect of your role involves ensuring contractors’ plans align precisely with contract documents, overseeing strict compliance with provisions, and maintaining a steadfast focus on safety, quality, environmental compliance, cost, and schedule performance. This role demands a comprehensive knowledge of construction engineering, construction processes, and value engineering, along with familiarity with Contract Law and the Occupational Health and Safety Act. Your strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills will be essential for presenting complex ideas with clarity and fostering collaboration across all organizational levels and with specialists from various sectors. A valid Ontario Class ‘G’ driver’s license is required for travel to various site locations and meetings.
