Your primary goal will be to ensure every stage of the employee lifecycle runs smoothly, contributing significantly to an exceptional employee experience.

This role involves partnering with various people and cross-functional teams to deliver scalable people programs, maintain operational excellence, and continuously improve processes. You will own day-to-day People Operations, encompassing onboarding, offboarding, HR systems, employee records, and policy administration. A key aspect of your contribution will be to support and grow Knak's employer brand through strategic recruitment marketing and employee storytelling. You will also create engaging internal communications using the Knak platform, ensuring all employees remain informed and connected. Furthermore, you will collaborate with the Office Manager on employee events and culture initiatives, maintain HR compliance, and provide vital people reporting and insights. During busy periods, your support for recruitment will be invaluable, coordinating interviews and candidate communications. Serving as a trusted resource, you will provide day-to-day HR guidance while upholding confidentiality, always seeking opportunities to streamline processes and leverage AI and automation for a stronger employee experience.

What Knak Seeks in a People Generalist

Knak is looking for a proactive, detail-oriented, and AI-forward individual with a strong background in human resources. Ideal candidates will have 3–5 years of progressive experience in HR and/or People Operations, including at least 2–3 years in an HR Generalist, HR Manager, or HR Business Partner capacity within a fast-paced, high-growth environment. A strong command of HRIS systems, particularly BambooHR, and a proven ability to maintain data integrity are essential. Demonstrated experience managing employee relations cases and a working knowledge of Canadian employment standards and compliance requirements are also critical.
