The Opportunity to Lead Accident Benefit Claims Definity is seeking an accomplished Manager, National Accident Benefits, to join our team in Calgary, Alberta. This pivotal role involves leading a group of dedicated Team Leaders who are expertly handling a significant portfolio of Accident Benefit claims. As a key leader within our organisation, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive strategic direction, robust coaching, and essential oversight to ensure optimal performance and strong governance across all claims operations. Your mandate will include driving financial, strategic, and operational objectives, fostering continuous improvement initiatives, and championing talent development within your team. This position is central to enhancing our overall insurance operations and collaborating effectively with various stakeholders including underwriting, actuary, and senior claims leadership to achieve our collective goals. What You'll Bring to Definity To excel in this leadership capacity, candidates are expected to bring a robust professional background, demonstrating a minimum of 10 years of general claims handling experience, alongside at least 5 years of dedicated claims leadership experience. Proficiency and deep knowledge of Accident Benefits claims handling and comprehensive portfolio management are absolutely essential for this role. While a university degree or a two-year college diploma is required, completion of FCIP, CIP, or CRM designations will be considered a significant asset. We are seeking an individual who is enthusiastic, goal-oriented, and execution-focused, with a proven history of successful change management initiatives. Your ability to operate effectively in an agile and fast-paced environment, coupled with outstanding verbal and written communication skills, will be critical. Furthermore, a passion for coaching and mentoring, alongside the capacity to bring a sense of understanding and inclusion to problem-solving, is highly valued.
