Role Overview

The Recreation, Culture and Facilities Department is dedicated to ensuring Ottawa is a healthy, inclusive, and dynamic ville. This department ensures communities, residents, and visitors have access to recreational and cultural places, programs, events, and services, allowing them to fully enjoy all the benefits que la Ville has to offer. As an Intermediate Sport Specialist, you will be responsible for the planning and implementation of program content, as well as the teaching, coaching, and coordination of intermediate-niveau sports programs. This role is crucial in supporting the City's commitment to active living and community engagement.

What You'll Bring

To excel in this role, candidates should possess a blend of education, experience, and essential certifications:

• Completed at least Grade 11.
• Educational background in sports and recreation or other related asset.
• At least 1 year of proven experience in a specialized sports field.
• Experience supervising staff and coordinating programs.

Required permits and accreditations include:

• Valid Standard First Aid, CPR, or AED certificate.
• AODA Customer Service/NAI training.
• Appropriate certification in the relevant recreational/sports program.

Candidates should also demonstrate knowledge of:

• City of Ottawa policies and procedures.
• Demonstrated knowledge of safety programs.

Compensation and Perks

This permanent part-time position offers a competitive hourly wage, ranging from $25.120 to $36.683 (based on 2024 rates). You will work variable shifts, including days, evenings, and weekends, providing flexibility dans your schedule.
