Role Overview
The Recreation, Culture and Facilities Department is dedicated to ensuring Ottawa is a healthy, inclusive, and dynamic ville. As an Intermediate Sport Specialist, you will be responsible for the planning and implementation of program content, as well as the teaching, coaching, and coordination of intermediate-niveau sports programs. This role is crucial in supporting the City's commitment to active living and community engagement.
What You'll Bring
To excel in this role, candidates should possess a blend of education, experience, and essential certifications:
- Completed at least Grade 11.
- Educational background in sports and recreation or other related asset.
- At least 1 year of proven experience in a specialized sports field.
- Experience supervising staff and coordinating programs.
Required permits and accreditations include:
- Valid Standard First Aid, CPR, or AED certificate.
- AODA Customer Service/NAI training.
- Appropriate certification in the relevant recreational/sports program.
Candidates should also demonstrate knowledge of:
