About the Role at CIBC
As an Estate Planning Assistant at CIBC in Toronto, you will be an integral part of a team dedicated to serving clients with excellence. This role is crucial for supporting Head Office and Estate Planning Specialists across all administrative, sales, and marketing functions. You will need to review life insurance applications and related documentation for completeness and accuracy, ensuring all necessary paperwork is forwarded to the insurance company. Maintaining accurate and complete client files is a core responsibility, contributing to the seamless operation of our estate planning services. Your work will directly impact our clients' experience, as you assist in managing their insurance needs and financial planning requirements.
A significant part of your contribution will be in client service, where you will distribute client anniversary statements and notifications to the appropriate Investment Advisors on a timely basis. Following up with Investment Advisors to ensure clients receive prompt service and reviews, especially concerning policy anniversary statements and lapse/late payment offer notifications, is essential. While direct discussion of insurance-related items with clients requires an insurance licence, you will respond to general client enquiries or direct them to the appropriate licensed staff member. This ensures our clients always receive the expert guidance they need for their estate planning.
Furthermore, you will contribute to sales and marketing efforts by preparing insurance illustrations using specialised software provided by various life insurance companies. This includes obtaining "special" or "inforce" insurance illustrations from carriers as requested. You will also play a key role in planning and organising seminars, lunch and learns, workshops, and product launches designed to educate and engage our clients on various estate planning solutions. At CIBC, we empower our team members to make a meaningful impact, fostering an environment where your dedication to our clients is truly valued.
What You'll Need to Succeed
To excel as an Estate Planning Assistant at CIBC, you will need a proven background in customer service, estates, and sales. A degree or diploma in Business is a foundational requirement for this role. Furthermore, holding a Life License Qualification Program (LLQP) certification is highly valued, or you must be open to obtaining this crucial certification within 12 months of hire. This program ensures you have the necessary knowledge to support our clients effectively, particularly concerning their insurance and estate planning needs.
Success in this position also hinges on your meticulous attention to detail; you are someone who notices critical information others might overlook. Your strong critical thinking skills will inform your decision-making, ensuring accuracy in all administrative tasks related to client accounts and insurance documentation. Putting our clients first is paramount at CIBC. You will engage with purpose to find the right solutions for them, consistently going the extra mile because it is the right thing to do. We need professionals who embody our values of trust and teamwork, bringing their authentic selves to work every day. This role requires full-time on-site presence Monday through Friday in Toronto, enabling collaborative work within our dynamic team.
